What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
What does a treatment feel like?
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many have reported miraculous results.
Is Reiki safe for everyone?
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It can be effective in helping virtually every known illness and has the potential to create a beneficial effect. It also work can work in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to possibly relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Can anyone learn Reiki?
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life.
Is Reiki religious in nature?

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

What is a Spiritual Reading?

A spiritual reading is  when we relay a message of what your spirit guides that surround you give to you for your own healing and the betterment of your life and your relations. This may be about how you live to hearing from a relative or friend who has passed over and healing something that was between you.
How is it done?
We simply listen to what the spirits have to say and show through smell, sight, hearing and knowings, and relay the simple message straight to you how it is given to us.  We do not hold anything back or embellish these messages so that you get what is directly being said.
I’m scared I will be told something bad or scary like I am going to die.. do you do this?
We give exactly what we are told. And although there have been times when we have had to relay a message of what we would call “bad or negative” the spirits always have a way of saying it with such love and gentleness that it is a relief to hear. They also give messages to help many to choose a better path than the one that leads to these so called, “bad or negative” issues
Example: Your lungs feel soft, and you should go get checked for lung issues. Right away many of us will think we are being told we have cancer, because our minds go that way. But really the Spirits are saying you have a way to heal yourself right now and be free of these issues. IE bronchitis.
How do I know what you are saying is true?
Everything that we are given is able to be validated. If not see able in the reading, it will be presented over time. In the above example, the client went to the doctor and indeed they found an issue that would have become quite bad if the client had not got the help he needed at the time.
How often can we come to see you?
We do not recommend coming all the time to see us. When the Spirits give you what you need there needs to be some time to allow you to use the information to your advantage and then start to make your own decisions. A reading is not something for you to lean on throughout your whole life but is a tool to help you get over some of the bigger humps in life.

The Science Behind Reiki

Independant research by Dr. Robert Becker and Dr. John Zimmerman during the 1980’s investigated what happens whilst people practice therapies like Reiki. They found that not only do the brain wave patterns of practitioner and reciever become synchronized in the Alpha State, characteristic of deep relazation and meditation. They also pulse in unison with the earth’s magnetic field, known as the Schuman Resonance. During these moments, the biomagnetic field of the practitioners’ hands is at least 1000 times greater than normal, and not as a result of internal body current. Toni Bunnell (1997) suggests that the linking of energy fields between practitioner and earth allows the practitioner to draw on the “infinite energy source” or “universal energy field” via the Schuman REsonance. Professor Paul Davies and Dr. John Gribben in The Matter Myth (1991), discuss the quantum physics view of the “living universe” in which everything is connected in a “living web of interdependance”. All of this supports the subjective experience of “oneness” and “expanded consciousness” related by those who regularly receive or self-treat with Reiki.
Zimmerman (1990) in the USA and Seto (1992) in Japan further investigated the large pulsating biomagnetic field that is emitted from the hands of energy pratitioners whilst they work. They discovered that the pulses are in the same frequencies as brain waves, and sweep up and down from 0.3 – 30HZ, focusing mostly in 7 -8 HZ, alpha state. Independant medical research has shown that this range of frequencies will stimulate healing in the body, with specific frequencies being shutable for different tissues. For example, 2 Hz encourages nerve regeneration, 7Hz bone growth, 10 Hz ligament mending, and 15 Hz capillary formation. Physiotherapy equipment based on these principles has been designed to aid soft tissue regeneration, and ultra sound technology is commonly used to clear clogged arteries and disintegrate kidney stones. Also it has been known for many years that placing an electrical coil around a fracture that refuses to mend will stimulate bone growth and repair.
Becker explains that “brain waves” are not confined to the brain but travel throughout the body via the perineural system, the sheaths of conncective tissue surrounding all nerves. Durring treatment, these waves begin as relatively weak pulses in the thalamus of the practitioner’s brain, and gather cumulative strength as they flow to the peripheral nerves of the body including the hands. The same affect is mirrored in the person receiving treatment, and Becker suggests that it is this system more than any other, that regulates injury, repair and system rebalance. This highlights one of the special feartures of Reiki (and similar therapies) – that both practitioner and client receive the benefits of a treatment, which makes it very efficient.
It is interesting to note that Dr. Becker carried out his study on world-wide array of cross-cultural subjects, and no matter what their belif systems or customs, or how opposed to each other their beliefs, and can therefore be used by people of any background and faith, or none at all. This neutrality makes it particularly appropriate to a medical or prison setting.
